Fresh after the success of our sold seasons of Paper Doll in Sydney and Perth, and Yen at Kings Cross Theatre, New Ghosts Theatre Company launches IGNITE COLLECTIVE, a ground-breaking initiative that partners emerging and established female playwrights and creatives to create works for female performers, between the ages of 20-30.

New Ghosts has been creating and presenting high quality new works in the independent sector for the last four years. In our history of our auditions, three females have auditioned for every one male, for roles of this age. This over-saturated and undernourished demographic has therefore become a high priority for our company.

If successful, this crowd funding campaign will give us starting capital for our 2019 production. By investing in this production, we are confident that this will increase our audience base, our reach, and in turn help us continue to make work and succeed in developing four new works a year. Together we will create a canon of new work, for female artists by female artists. We will showcase unique voices, roles, and stories that are needed, wanted, and often lacking in the theatre scene.

After 70 production interviews, 230 actor applications and 130 auditions we are so proud to present the 32 members of the IGNITE Collective:
