Paper Doll was originally commissioned and performed at the Old Fitz Theatre, Sydney, from the 7 – 18 November 2017, as part of the inaugural New Fitz program by Red Line Productions. It toured to Perth’s FRINGEWORLD two years later, where it performed a sold out extended season at The Blue Room Theatre from 12 – 16 February 2019.
A man stands at a woman’s front door, soaking wet and unexpected. She isn’t surprised. He is older. She has grown-up, but he is not ready to admit that she’s no longer the girl, the princess, he left behind. He needs somewhere to stay and she is all he’s got.
Written by multi-award winning playwright Katy Warner, in response to Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge, and featuring Hayley Pearl (YEN KXT, Abducting Diana New Theatre, King Lear Seymour Centre, All Saints and Cops LAC) and Martin Jones (Paper Doll Old Fitz, Hamlet Laycock Street Theatre & All Saints), Paper Doll is gripping, unmissable theatre that will leave audiences breathless.
